The CEO and founder of MP3tunes is Michael Robertson, founder and original CEO of MP3.com. Mr. Robertson started MP3tunes three years after he stepped down as the CEO of MP3.com. San Diego-based MP3.com was founded in 1997 and grew to nearly 300 employees, becoming the largest digital music site on the Web with more than 1,000,000 songs from 250,000 artists and hundreds of thousands of unique daily visitors. Vivendi Universal purchased the profitable company in 2001 for $372 million in stock and cash. Please see MichaelRobertson.com.

The President of MP3tunes is Emily Richards, also known for her success as a top downloaded artist on MP3.com. Ms. Richards is the founder and chairman of AWAKE Community and has recorded 10 self-released albums. Ms. Richards is a licensed CPA and worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers for 11 years.

MP3tunes was founded in February of 2005 and is one of many ventures for Robertson since he sold MP3.com. In 2001, he founded Linspire, Inc. (Linspire.com), a company that produces the Linspire desktop Linux operating system, which has been gaining market share from the popular Microsoft Windows. In 2003, Robertson founded SIPphone, Inc. (SIPphone.com), a VoIP technology company that competes with traditional phone systems. In 2005 he founded Ajax13 (ajax13.com), a company that develops web-based applications using Ajax technology.
